Since I routinely access/administer the HTPC remotely, I will stick with using hardware monitor to keep an eye on things. Using the hardware monitor program I do not see the spiking temps. This fast and efficient solution will let you control every aspect of the computer. Click the blue triangle to check CPU frequency and CPU usage. User can monitor CPU frequency, Voltage, Temperature, Fan through AI Suite 3. CAM was only around 1.5% CPU use according to the task manager, but apparently it was the cause of the problem. NZXT CAM is free software for PC monitoring. The NZXT Cam temperature monitor is equipped with diverse skillsets. Click Windows icon, and click AI Suite 3 to open it. I shut down the CAM program and the spiking stopped. Or even some small flaw or bug in the software. Just enough to bump the temperatures.Īnd also consider the + or - error in the temperatures detected or reported. Cam appears to be reporting CPU (Tctl/Tdie) while Ryzen Master appears to be reporting CPU CCD1 (Tdie). Running HWiNFO64, there are three temperatures that are shown for the CPU: CPU (Tctl/Tdie), CPU Die (average), and CPU CCD1 (Tdie). It does appear that you may have already done so (i.e., "but the load is about the same under both scenarios.") so take a closer look at what else may be going on.Ĭould be just a very small threshold of difference between the CAM CPU load and RD CPU load. I believe they are temps of different things. It's pretty simple to enter the BIOS to check your CPU temperature. I.e., more CPU activity perhaps with respect to RD versus CAM. That means you will see much higher temps when you are booted into Windows 10 or another operating system. It comes with certain cases, like the H700i, but even if you don't have any NZXT components in your build, you can still. ![]() I believe that you can use Task Manager, Resource Monitoring, and Performance Monitor to observe and quantify the load differences between CAM and RD. Our favorite software tool for monitoring your CPU temperature.
